RIO LINDA, Sacramento County — One of the historical resources in the Rio Linda–Elverta area is the Dry Creek Ranch House, part of Sacramento County’s larger Dry Creek Parkway.
The Sacramento County Regional Parks listing places the ranch property at 6852 Dry Creek Road, approximately half a mile north of Elkhorn Boulevard. The site sits near the north fork of Dry Creek and within a corridor recognized for its agricultural and local-history resources.
Can the public simply walk in?
The department says the house offers guided tours on a limited basis. It also explicitly states that picnics are not allowed at the ranch site. Visitors should not assume that a public parks website listing means an unstaffed building is open for unscheduled interior tours.
How to arrange a visit
The county’s page directs people interested in tours, facility questions or wedding arrangements to contact the listed reservation coordinator at 916-335-4359. Costs, availability, accessibility and conditions for private gatherings should be verified directly.
The ranch is part of a larger Dry Creek Parkway planning area. Access rights and regulations for the parkway do not necessarily apply to every adjacent piece of privately leased agricultural land or every heritage structure. Visitors should respect fences and posted boundaries.
